- In 2008 Vale placed an order for two L Series 24-Stone switch and crossing rail grinders. One is destined for the broad gauge EFC railway in Northern Brazil and the second will be used on the EFVM railway in Central Brazil.
- As part of the same order, Vale also purchased two Railvac Excavators to perform specialty excavating in tunnels and right of way drainage ditches, as well as for switch undercutting and level crossing renewal use on EFC and EFVM railways.
- Metro North Railroad purchased a new Loram Railvac Excavator in April 2008 for delivery in the summer of 2009.
- Metro North sought an innovative excavator solution to address specialty ballast excavation problems in tunnels and along platforms throughout the network.
- Metro North will also utilize the Loram Railvac to pickup garbage and other debris from the right of way.
- In 2008 Loram Delivered two L Series 12-stone Rail Grinders to the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system in San Francisco, California.
- BART purchased the Loram grinding equipment to address widespread corrugation problems, which resulted in a large number of noise complaints from patrons and the community.

- In December 2008 Loram will ship the new C21 80-Stone Rail Grinder to Queensland Rail (QR) in Australia.
- The increasing axle loads and tonnage experienced by QR over the past decade drove their decision to adopt a new high production rail grinding strategy. For the first time in Australia, single-pass preventive grinding will be possible at speeds in excess of 15km/hr. The C21 80-stone Rail Grinder represents the latest in rail grinding technology, which incorporates technologies to maximize productivity, reliability and finished quality.
- QR's new preventive rail grinding strategy will extensively utilize a new Loram Rail Inspection Vehicle (RIV) outfitted with Loram's Grind Data Management System (GDMS). GDMS serves not only as tool for quality control tool, but also a tool for grind planning.
- During the summer of 2008, Loram delivered two L Series 24-stone switch and crossing rail grinders to Queensland Railways (QR) in Australia.
- QR will operate this equipment on its property in North Eastern Australia as well as on WestNet Rail in Western Australia.
- In August the Delhi Metro awarded Loram a contract to supply a new 16-Stone Rail Grinder.
- This equipment will work in the Delhi Metro lines as well as the new Airport Line

- This order is significant because it represents a significant growth opportunity for Loram. The Indian Railways has approximately 85,000km of railway lines and these are the first two large production grinders purchased to date.
