On May 3, Loram participated in the Minnesota Railroad Technology Showcase at the State Capitol building in St. Paul. The event included a kick-off breakfast co-hosted by the Minnesota Regional Railroads Association and was designed to educate legislative staff of the advancements in rail safety and infrastructure. As a Minnesota based manufacturer, Loram was also able to demonstrate the railroad’s value in terms of number of jobs and economic impact to local commissioners. Other presenters included BNSF, Union Pacific, and Miller Ingenuity and other participants were on-hand including Canadian National Railway (CN), Canadian Pacific Railway (CP), Railway Supply Institute (RSI), Railway Engineering Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) and GoRail.
Loram’s VP of Engineering, Justine Clarine, explains to Minnesota’s rail director, Tenzin Dolkar, how Loram’s equipment maintains the rail, trackbed, and track substructure to improve operational efficiencies and ensure safe movement of trains.
