MRG

Transit Rail Grinding

Compact efficiency for transit lines.

The Loram MRG features a compact design that enables the rail grinder to work on systems with tight clearance envelops, such as subways and transit systems. The MRG can operate on grades up to 6% and curves as tight as 59 feet (18 m). The MRG efficiently performs rail grinding to re-profile the rail head, remove corrugations, and remove mill scale. The MRG is capable of grinding approximately 0.1–3 mph [0.1-5km/h].

As the MRG can travel over road (intercity) or on track, its transportability allows it to be a quick deploy solution and rapidly remove rail defects. The machine offers high performance while keeping operational costs low, meeting all necessary requirements for effective rail grinding.

MRG Series Optional Equipment Feature:

  • Optional non-contact transverse rail profile measurement system
  • 6 or 8 stone configuration
  • EU noise emission compliant, ideal for urban environments at night
  • Quickly deploy proximal to worksite, start grinding in a matter of minutes
  • Gauge convertible down to meter-gauge
  • Sharp curve grinding radius
