Loram Establishing Presence in Japan with New Tokyo Office
Expansion marks entry into one of the world’s most advanced rail markets
Loram is establishing a presence in Japan with a new office in Tokyo, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion across Asia.
Loram APAC Managing Director, Mark Burgess, and Regional Sales Director, Stephen Hill, were in Tokyo this month, where the office location was confirmed with the support of partners at ITOCHU Plantech Inc. The move establishes Loram’s on-the-ground presence in Japan and reflects a long-term commitment to the market.
Japan is recognized globally for its safety, reliability and engineering standards, with 30,000km of metro, conventional and high-speed rail.
“Japan sets the benchmark for rail performance and reliability,” said Mark Burgess. “It’s a market that values long-term partnerships and consistent delivery, which aligns strongly with how we operate. Building a local presence is a vital step as we continue to expand across North East Asia from a Japan base.”
Loram will supply its advanced rail maintenance equipment to the market, supported by local capability and partnerships.
Japan’s rail operators maintain high expectations across engineering, technical support and service delivery. As part of its expansion, Loram will continue to invest in local capability to ensure its solutions meet these standards.
“Establishing a presence in Japan is a significant milestone for Loram,” said Stephen Hill. “It allows us to build long-term relationships in a highly respected rail environment and continue strengthening our global capability.”
This move strengthens Loram’s presence in Asia and reinforces its position as a global provider of high-performance rail maintenance solutions.
