Loram’s RGX Series is a compact rail grinding solution designed for both production and specialty rail grinding to meet the demands of commuter, transit railways and some mainline applications. The compact design of the RGX allows it to navigate a wide variety of network requirements – steep grades, narrow curves, reduced kinematic, diagrams and light axle loads – while addressing a variety of grinding conditions. The RGX leverages state of the art technology and highly productive, 23 kW grind motors for efficient metal removal, reduced grind time, and optimized maintenance cost.
RGX includes Loram’s patented Rail Pro® grind management software systems. RGX is a configurable platform with (10) different consist configurations ranging from 20 to 40 stones. Each grind car contains its own engine, traction, water tank, hydraulics, and other features giving redundancy in operation while also meeting the latest emission requirements around the world. Other key features included in the RGX platform are railway bogies for improved ride quality, climate-controlled cabins and safe travel positions for up to 4 operators, highspeed travel for efficiently transiting to work-site and use of bio-degradable hydraulic fluids.
