Loram\u2019s GaugeShield\u00ae\u00a0lubrication system is an intelligent wayside system that senses the passing of train wheels over the GaugeShield\u2019s durable sensors and automatically dispenses a controlled quantity of grease to the gauge face of the rail. The GaugeShield gauge face application system creates a smooth interaction between the gauge face of the rail and the wheel flange to improve steering and to reduce noise.<\/p>\n

The GaugeShield\u2019s bar applicator consists of only three components that are built to last and easy to maintain in the field. With a patented spring or air spring loaded design, the bar applicator resists damage from hi-rail trucks or hollow worn wheels. Loram\u2019s gauge face bar applicators are compatible with any industry standard gauge face lubricator and grease.<\/p>\n

Loram\u2019s reliable design requires very little maintenance and has sensors that capture the condition of the system at all times. To reduce the amount of gauge face units needed, Loram\u2019s GaugeShield utilises a single digital controller that is capable of controlling the output to two separate tracks.<\/p>\n
