How They Work

Loram’s WDS2™ is an economical, yet rugged, wheel detection system suitable for freight rail applications. WDS2™ is mounted to the location of your choice by positioning clamps on the sides and below the selected rail. The WDS2™ has an adjustable sensing range, with the ability to decrease sensitivity below the maximum sensing distance (1.89"). Unlike competitors’ wheel detectors, Loram’s WDS2™ is polarity sensitive. Radio Frequency Immunity (RFI) sensitivity, and any metal background influence are adjustable through the potentiometer.

 

Loram’s WDS22A™ is a compact, two-sensor version of our WDS2™ wheel detector. This economical, yet rugged, wheel detection system is ideal for sensing speed and / or direction in freight rail applications. WDS22A™ is mounted to the location of your choice by positioning clamps on the sides and below the selected rail. A base-mount version is also available. The WDS22A™ has an adjustable sensing range, with the ability to decrease sensitivity below the maximum sensing distance (1.89"). Unlike competitors’ wheel detectors, Loram’s WDS22A™ is polarity sensitive. Radio Frequency Immunity (RFI) sensitivity, and any metal background influence are adjustable through the potentiometer.

 

Loram’s Enhanced Wheel Detector Interface Module (EWDIM)™ is an enhanced wheel detector amplifier that is optimally suited to Loram’s Wheel Detection Systems (WDS) line of wheel detectors. EWDIM™ is mounted to the location of your choice using DIN rails on the sides and below the selected rail. The EWDIM™ has an optically isolated output, and features test and output inversion switches. Unlike competitors’ wheel detectors, Loram’s EWDIM™ is polarity sensitive. Radio Frequency Immunity (RFI) sensitivity, and any metal background influence are adjustable through the potentiometer.
